The Way We Work
The ISCWSA (Industry Steering Committee for Wellbore Surveying Accuracy) consists of an informally constituted group of companies and individuals and was established following the SPWLA Topical Conference on Measurement While Drilling, held in Kerville, Texas, in late 1995. It affiliated to the SPE in 2004 as the SPE Wellbore Positioning Technical Section.
The group pride themselves on the 'less than formal' nature of their meetings which generate extremely open and frank discussion around the well positioning issues currently facing our industry.
Meetings are usually held twice a year and generally alternate between the United States and Europe. Most of the work is done in sub-committees between the main meetings. Sub-committees are formed and disbanded as required. Currently there are three sub-committees operating: • The Error Model Management Sub-Committee • The Collision Monitoring Sub-Committee • A Survey QA/QC Sub-Committee
